VAN NUYS — An apparently drug-related gunfight at an apartment Friday morning left a man and woman injured and three people under arrest, police said.
The shooting took place between two men about 9:15 a.m. in a third-floor apartment in the 14000 block of Sherman Way. Police recovered two revolvers from the scene.
One man went to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and got into an argument with her over an alleged sex-for-drugs exchange, Sgt. Mitch Robins said. He was shot in the hip by the fiance of another woman who lives at the apartment, Robins said.
The wounded man fired three shots through the apartment’s closed door, hitting another woman in the arm and leg, Robins said.
Both men were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and a woman was arrested for interfering with police, Robins said.
The wounded man was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and later transferred to County-USC Medical Center. The wounded woman went to Valley Presbyterian Hospital but was transferred Friday afternoon to a county hospital.
Their injuries weren’t life-threatening, police said.
