MGM Lions on Ice: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is entering the live entertainment business by launching “The Magic of MGM” through a venture with Ice Capades Inc. The 64-city ice show will feature skaters, gymnasts and high-tech effects to highlight films from the MGM library, including “Goldfinger,” “The Pink Panther” and “The Magnificent Seven.”
Film Group Gets Larger Credit Line: Los Angeles-based Overseas Filmgroup Inc., whose recent films include “Antonia’s Line” and “The Secret of Roan Inish,” has received an expanded line of credit for up to $27 million. National Westminster Bank’s Coutts & Co. subsidiary was agent for the deal, with Berliner Bank as a participant. Overseas Filmgroup recently signed a merger agreement with Entertainment/Media Acquisition Corp., a Beverly Hills company.
