IRIS Software Firm Moving to New Quarters

IRIS, a Newport Beach-based provider of multiple listing service software for real estate brokers and agents, is expanding.
The company, formed three years ago in a garage in Aliso Viejo, has grown into a nearly $1-million-a-year company despite the real estate downturn. Now, the firm and its 10 employees are moving to new office space in the Park MacArthur business center in Newport Beach.
“We picked real estate because we saw what kind of junk software Realtors were using--there was a real need,” said Dan Woolley, an IRIS co-founder who has a high-tech background. IRIS creates software that allows real estate brokers to easily get information on homes for sale through various multiple listing services throughout Orange County and the nation.
Revenue at the start-up company has grown to $750,000 and is expected to surpass $1.5 million next year, Wooley said.
