Traffic Team Targets Freeway Offramp

Drivers failing to come to complete stops at a busy freeway offramp in Thousand Oaks will be targeted by traffic enforcement officers this week, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.

Traffic officers in Thousand Oaks will be on the lookout for motorists leaving the Ventura Freeway at Ventu Park Road, where there has been an increase in accidents in recent months, officers said.

“The traffic bureau has noted a high number of traffic accidents at the intersection as a result of drivers failing to stop at the posted stop signs,” Sgt. Ken Bailey said.

“The Thousand Oaks Police Department will therefore enhance public safety and awareness at the intersection by actively citing all motorists observed failing to stop,” he said.

Sheriff’s deputies in Thousand Oaks have launched a weekly program to step up patrols at problem spots throughout the city as part of an ongoing effort to slow down traffic and keep the roads safe.
