Gymnastics Meet for Special Olympians

Special Olympics state champions John Arellano and Tina Covarrubias will be on hand as disabled athletes team with mainstream gymnasts, family and friends for the fifth annual Ventura County Special Olympics Partners Gymnastics Meet on Saturday in Ventura.
Athletes will perform men’s and women’s floor exercises, vault, uneven bars, balance beam, rings, parallel bars and high bar.
Also on hand will be Special Olympics bronze medalist Michele Riggs.
The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at Gold Coast Gymnastics, 2085 Sperry Drive. Admission is free.
