Schools and Wealth
After reading the article about Palos Verdes Peninsula cash-strapped schools (June 13) and the programs that have been cut or eliminated, it was dismaying to read that the peninsula ranked among the wealthiest in the U.S. (same issue) according to Worth magazine. As Gordana Swanson, a former mayor of Rolling Hills, ranked richest in the nation, remarked, “This is a community that truly cherishes its privacy.” Small wonder.
