Body Is Identified as Palmdale Man
CANYON COUNTRY — Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies Friday identified a body found in the scrub beside the Antelope Valley Freeway as that of Gregory Morton Jr. of Palmdale.
Morton’s body was spotted next to an abandoned car by a passing motorist early Thursday. Deputy James Hellmold said Morton, 18, went by the street name “Tone Bone.”

Hometown--The Times on Saturday erroneously identified the hometown of a man whose body was found Thursday. Gregory Morton Jr. lived in Inglewood.
The Sheriff’s Department is looking for a possible witness in Morton’s death--a Palmdale man who goes by the street name “Tone Bone.”
An autopsy will attempt to determine the cause of death.
