Zane Edward Miller, 76; Psychiatrist
Zane Edward Miller, a physician and psychiatrist who also wrote self-help books, has died from complications stemming from Guillain-Barre syndrome. He was 76.
Miller died at home April 28. A resident of Ventura since 1971, he worked at Ventura County General Hospital, now Ventura County Medical Center.
In addition to his numerous medical degrees and specialties, Miller was an accomplished swimmer and poet, family members said.

Miller completed postgraduate work in psychiatry and neurology in San Francisco. He later worked for the U. S. Bureau of Prisons.
Miller studied new areas of medicine throughout his career, further specializing in such areas as electrocardiography and electroencephalography.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, and two sons, John Anthony and Russell Joseph, all of Ventura; a daughter, Anunciata Lillian of Ojai; a brother, Francis of Arizona, and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
