DSP Communications : No. 1 on IPOs

IPO investors loved DSP, and it’s easy to see why. A $10,000 stake in the Cupertino firm’s March 1995 initial public offering has since grown to about $60,000.
DSP supplies low-power chip sets to the Japanese cellular phone market; customers include Kenwood, Sanyo and Kyocera.
Its sales surge shows no signs of stopping. For the first quarter ended March 31, the company reported revenue of $17.3 million, up four-fold from the previous year.
