Harlan Helps Santa Margarita Upset El Toro

Leea Harlan had two hits and four runs batted in to help Santa Margarita defeat El Toro, ranked eighth in Orange County, 7-3, in a Sea View League softball game Friday at Santa Margarita High.
Kristin Morley had three hits and two runs scored for Santa Margarita (14-11, 3-5 in league). El Toro is 17-11, 6-2.
In another Sea View League game:
Newport Harbor 7, Corona del Mar 6--Trailing, 6-5, in the bottom of the seventh, Newport Harbor’s Lori Metcalf singled home Stephanie Gosselen with the tying run. Later in the inning, Metcalf scored the winning run on Mindy Alford’s bunt single for the host Sailors (9-8, 2-6), who trailed, 6-0, after four innings.
In the Academy League:
St. Margaret’s 7, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Amber Arnold (5-4) pitched her first no-hitter of the year, striking out 14 for St. Margaret’s (12-4, 7-1).
In the Golden West League:
Westminster 7, Tustin 3--Lacy Hauxhurst singled and homered for sixth-ranked Westminster (18-4, 6-0).
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 11, Mission Viejo 3--Jennifer Sutherland had three hits, two runs scored and three RBIs for Capistrano Valley (10-13, 5-3).
Mater Dei 7, San Clemente 2--Kelsey Kollen had three hits for Mater Dei (23-1, 8-0), which clinched a share of the league title.
