BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : Martinez Throws in Simulated Game
- Share via
Dodger pitcher Ramon Martinez, sidelined since April 6 because of a groin injury, threw 45 pitches during a simulated game Wednesday. Martinez, who has missed four starts, will begin a minor league rehabilitation assignment Saturday at San Antonio against Midland, Texas.
Chan Ho Park will start Friday night at Pittsburgh in place of Tom Candiotti, who strained his right knee while warming up before Saturday night’s loss to the Cubs.
The Dodgers will wait to see how Candiotti feels before determining when he’ll make his next start.

Chad Fonville started at shortstop in place of Greg Gagne, who sat out his fifth consecutive game because of a strained hamstring.
