Egypt Militants Vow Attacks

CAIRO — Egypt’s most active militant group vowed Friday to attack Israeli targets and urged Muslims across the Arab world to rise up against their leaders for failing to react to Israel’s bombardment of Lebanon.
The Gamaa al Islamiya, which claimed responsibility for last week’s slaying of 18 Greek tourists in an attack intended to kill Israelis, issued the warning in a statement faxed to an international news agency.
The group denounced a “Summit of Peacemakers” held in Egypt in March to support the U.S.-sponsored peace process in the Middle East, saying it had set the stage for Israel’s attacks.
