International Remote Imaging Systems Inc. posted a 42% rise in net income for its fiscal year that ended Dec. 31, partly because of tax benefits.
The Chatsworth-based company, which sells urinalysis equipment to laboratories, posted net income of $2.09 million in 1995, compared to $1.47 million a year earlier. Its sales last year rose 21% to $13.2 million, up from $10.9 million.
As a result of the company’s second-quarter acquisition of LDA Systems, International Remote picked up a $3.6-million deferred tax benefit.
