Planners OK Twin 3-Story Buildings

Two new, three-story office buildings will soon appear along the Ventura Freeway near Westlake Boulevard.
The Thousand Oaks Planning Commission on Monday approved plans for twin, 46,500-square-foot buildings on Townsgate Road near Lakefield Road. The project will occupy a 4.7-acre site that is now vacant.
The buildings, designed in Mediterranean-style architecture and separated by a courtyard, will be built one at a time.
City planners had expressed concerns that the project did not include enough parking to satisfy city standards and recommended reducing the size of the buildings. Planning commissioners decided Monday to allow developer Moshe Silagi to construct the first building as planned. If parking at that building proves to be inadequate, the city may require that the second building be smaller.
