San Gabriel Valley : Development OKd by Appeals Court
The 272-house La Vina development in Altadena on the edge of the Angeles National Forest proposed nearly a decade ago is ready for construction after getting approval from an appeals court, the developer said.
“It’s very unlikely the [state] Supreme Court will review this case,” said Andrew Oliver, a consultant for developer Coscan Davidson Homes. “If the [opponents] want to stop it now, they will have to put themselves in the path of the bulldozers.”
The state 2nd Court of Appeal upheld a decision March 12 by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to dismiss a lawsuit by the Friends of La Vina, a group opposed to the project.
Friends of La Vina Chairman Adolfo Miralles said the group has not decided whether to appeal.
