The Pierce College Associated Students Organization will celebrate the world’s diverse cultures in a four-day festival next week on campus.
“Taste of the World” will begin at noon Monday with a parade along the college mall and the raising of a United Nations flag.
Different cultures will be highlighted each day: African on Monday, French and Persian on Tuesday, Latino on Wednesday, Jewish and Armenian on Thursday.
Each day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a variety of foreign foods will be available for a nominal fee outside the school cafeteria, 6201 Winnetka Ave., along with singing and dancing.
The festival is designed to acquaint students with the diversity of cultures, said Duleep Rodrigo, a student from Sri Lanka and student vice president.
