Alabama’s Roy Rogers Pulls Trigger on Tigers
Roy Rogers, Alabama’s 6-10 center, had 20 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks to lead the Crimson Tide (18-11) to a 72-49 victory over Missouri (18-15) in an National Invitation Tournament second-round game at Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Missouri’s twins towers were a non-factor. Center Sammie Haley, 7-1, finished with two points. His twin brother, 7-1 Simeon Haley, was suspended for the game by Coach Norm Stewart. No reason was given.
Rogers, a senior who broke Shaquille O’Neal’s Southeastern Conference record with 14 blocks in a game earlier this season, dominated inside.
