New CEO Named at Pacifica Hospital

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Delma Corp., the parent of Pacifica Hospital, said it promoted Barbara J. Foster to chief executive of the hospital. She succeeds George Mack, who resigned recently.
Foster, 43, joined the 217-bed hospital two years ago as vice president of patient care services. The company said Foster has been key to the hospital’s plan to secure managed care contracts by providing more outpatient services, which are cheaper than inpatient care.
A company spokeswoman said Mack’s two year-contract expired March 7 and that he is pursuing job opportunities in the managed care field. Mack couldn’t be reached for comment.
