Elenore Kline of Camarillo, a 56-year Ventura County resident, died Saturday after a lengthy illness. She was 85.
Kline was born Nov. 29, 1910, in Flagstaff, Ariz., and moved to Long Beach with her family when she was still a child.
She met her future husband, Dan Kline, in Long Beach. His job in the oil industry took them to several oil-production areas before they settled in Ventura in 1940.
Elenore Kline belonged to several Catholic organizations, including the Catholic Daughters and the Third Order of St. Francis. She also enjoyed bridge, playing at least once a week.
But the main focus of her life was her children and grandchildren, said daughter Jeanette Thomas of Camarillo. “She was totally devoted to her family,” Thomas said.
Other survivors include sons Daniel J. Kline of Clovis and James G. Kline of Montebello; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1973.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pierce Brothers Griffin Chapel in Camarillo. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo.
