Brea Olinda 54, Ocean View 44--Freshman Lindsey Davidson scored seven points, had four steals and made the game’s biggest shot as Brea Olinda (27-3) won its record eighth consecutive Southern Section title in the II-A final at the Pyramid.

Davidson replaced Jennifer Saari, who re-injured a strained knee midway in the second quarter with the Cats leading, 20-12. Saari had seven points.

Ocean View (22-8) pulled to within three points, 35-32, with 1:23 left in the third quarter, but after making only three of 13 shots in the period, got a clutch jumper from Rochelle Anthony and then Davidson’s 30-foot desperation three-point basket at the buzzer to stretch the lead to eight, 40-32.

Ocean View (22-8) was led by Becky Fraser’s 16 points.
