Change of Venue Hearing Set in Gammage Death Case

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — A judge will hear arguments next month about whether the trial of three white police officers accused of killing a black motorist should be moved out of Allegheny County.
Officer John Vojtas, Lt. Milton Mulholland and Officer Michael Albert have pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the Oct. 12 death of Jonny Gammage. Judge David Cashman on Friday set a hearing for April 4 on motions in the trial.
Gammage, 31, a cousin of Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Ray Seals, died in a scuffle with five officers after police said they stopped him for driving erratically.
