1 Killed in Gunfire at Santa Ana Party
SANTA ANA — Gunfire erupted at a Santa Ana party Friday night, leaving one 18-year-old guest dead, police said Saturday.
Tony Juarez of Downey was standing in a driveway about 10:15 p.m. Friday when a gunman walked up from behind and shot him once, Santa Ana Police Lt. Bob Chavez said.
About 50 people were at the party in the 2200 block of South Orange Avenue when police were called about the shooting, Chavez said.
A motive behind the slaying is unknown, and party-goers were unable to give a description of the gunman.
Police believe the incident might be gang-related.
