Diodes Inc., a Westlake Village producer of semiconductor products for the automotive, electronics and computer industries, will receive a new supply of processed wafers used in producing semiconductors from a unit of a Taiwanese company that is a major Diodes shareholder.
In return, Diodes will provide the unit, FabTech Inc., with about $2.5 million in working capital. FabTech is a newly created subsidiary of Lite-On Power Semiconductor Corp., Diode’s Taiwanese shareholder.
Diodes expects the wafers it will receive in the deal to contribute substantially to its revenues in 1997 and beyond.
