Sheet Chic
Customers are becoming more savvy about buying bed linens, according to area store owners. After mastering thread count and distinguishing among cotton types, here’s what they are snapping up:
* Duvet covers, without a top sheet (very European).
* All-natural, 100% cotton sheets with no dyes or bleaches.
* Mix-and-match bedding, checks with stripes or solids, also called “the layered look.”
* Cleaner, simpler classic looks, using lots of soft beiges. (Country, heavy florals are out).
* Colors: Yellows, any green except kelly.
* Patterns: light-blue florals, damasks, tone on tone.
* Extra-deep sheets, made for mattresses that have pillow tops.
