Veterinarians Euthanize 22-Year-Old Bison at L.A. Zoo

A 22-year-old American bison with severe arthritis was put to sleep by veterinarians at the Los Angeles Zoo.
“Tonka had lost weight over the last few weeks and was having difficulty moving. Our veterinary staff decided it was time to humanely euthanize this dear old friend of the zoo,” Dr. Charles Sedgwick said.
