Infinity to Buy TDI Worldwide: Infinity Broadcasting Corp. said it will acquire the closely held company that makes advertising displays for $300 million. New York-based Infinity owns 34 radio stations and had 1995 revenue of $325.7 million. TDI Worldwide Inc. provides advertisers with displays for city buses and other locations. It has more than 100 franchises in 26 cities in Britain and in the United States, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia. TDI had revenue of about $262 million last year. The company also owns London Transport Advertising, which has exclusive advertising rights on the city’s subway and more than 4,000 London buses. William Apfelbaum will continue as chief executive of TDI after the acquisition is completed.
