They may not get roses, but volunteers at the Camarillo Health Care District will receive a special recognition on Valentine’s Day.
District officials have planned several events to commemorate the holiday, including a brunch honoring many of the longtime volunteers and a community open house throughout the afternoon.
Among other honors, the district will present volunteer Norman Newman with a plaque recognizing his 10 years of service and the 4,000 volunteer hours he has donated over the past decade.
The open house will be at the district office at 3639 E. Las Posas Road in Camarillo between 1 and 4 p.m. Wednesday.
District officials will answer questions and give tours of their facilities.
Refreshments will be served.
The Camarillo Health Care District is a public agency dedicated to serving the health-care needs of Camarillo area residents. Among other services, it operates a community meals program for senior citizens.
