COUNTYWIDE : Bahai Conference to Focus on Women

The Bahais of Ventura County will hold a conference and workshops on women as peacemakers Sunday at Oxnard College.

There will be workshops providing practical solutions toward establishing full equality between men and women. Some of the topics will include communications between men and women, how to eliminate stereotypes and prejudice, and the role of women as peacemakers.

The keynote speaker will be Hoda Mahmoudi), a professor of sociology at Cal Lutheran University. Mahmoudi was a speaker at the United Nations Fourth Conference on Women in Beijing, China.

Her talk will examine the status of women throughout the world and the challenges and impediments toward achievement of full equality between men and women.
