Loyola Is Outmatched at Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. — Rick Brainard scored a career-high 26 points Thursday night as Portland routed Loyola Marymount, 97-77, in a West Coast Conference game.
The Pilots, 14-7 overall and 5-4 in WCC play, had lost at Loyola, 70-62, last Saturday.
Lemont Daniels added 12 points, eight assists and five steals for Portland.
Freshman center Kyle Stonehouse scored 11 for Portland.
Portland had a 12-point halftime lead and Loyola Marymount never came closer than 10 in the second half.
The Lions (15-7, 5-4) were led by Jim Williams with 18 points and Mike O’Quinn with 16.
