Woman’s Lawsuit Alleges Dabney Coleman Beat Her
A woman who dated actor Dabney Coleman sued him in Santa Monica Superior Court, alleging that he beat her during a ride home from a Los Angeles after-hours club in January.
When they neared the woman’s house in Beverly Hills, she and Coleman began to argue, she states in the lawsuit. She says Coleman hit her with her purse and tried to throw her out of the car.
No such beating ever occurred, said Deborah Drooz, an attorney representing Coleman. The actor, who played Bill Bittinger on the NBC sitcom “Buffalo Bill,” was never arrested or charged in such an incident, Drooz emphasized.
Sharlyn Brooner, who filed the suit on Jan. 30, dated Coleman several years ago, said Jeffrey Galen, her attorney. They met by chance last month at the club, after which Coleman drove Brooner home, Galen said. According to the suit, Brooner suffered disfigurement, physical pain and anguish as a result of the attack.
