Oxnard Coach Intelligent, Kind
I have been following the stories involving Ryle Lynch-Cole, head coach of the Oxnard High School girls’ basketball team, and the Oxnard Union High School District’s investigation into alleged recruiting violations.
Although I have not had contact with him for a number of years, the man that I know has never been anything but intelligent, kind and giving. He has given his time to the children of Oxnard selflessly.
The people behind this brouhaha, namely the seven Channel League coaches that started the public assassination of this man’s character, should be ashamed of themselves. The Oxnard High School girls’ basketball team is having a banner year and the other coaches are jealous. Period.
Oxnard High School is one of the finest schools in Ventura County, run by an extraordinary woman, Daisy Tatum. To question her integrity is asinine. Anyone who knows her, knows better than to buy into the story that she is capable of any professional misconduct.
Let’s get back to the game of high school basketball. We are in it for the kids, not to satisfy our own personal agenda or our overinflated egos.
