Arleta : Man Faces Child Pornography Charge
- Share via
An Arleta man was charged with possession of child pornography after a police search of his home turned up 24 photographs of children appearing to be between the ages of 14 and 16 engaged in explicit sex acts, according to City Atty. James Hahn.
Robert Delmar Christy, 39, faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine in connection with a criminal complaint charging him with possession of materials that feature a child under 18 engaged in sexual contact.
Vice officers from the Police Department’s Foothill Division arrested Christy on Thursday after they found the photographs, some showing nude children and others showing children engaged in sex acts, in a briefcase in Christy’s bedroom, according to Deputy City Atty. Deborah Sanchez, who is handling the case.
Officers first became aware of the photographs two days prior, as Foothill officers were serving a search warrant at Christy’s residence in an unrelated investigation. Vice officers were notified of the discovery and seized the photos after Christy gave them permission to search the residence.
Christy was taken into custody after the photographs were found and was transferred to the Foothill station, where he was booked and later released.
Christy is scheduled for arraignment Feb. 14 in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
