SEASON AT A GLANCE: Funicello, who last fall accepted a scholarship from UCLA, continues to be the undisputed leader of the Indians. The 6-foot-4 senior center last season was The Times’ Valley player of the year when she averaged 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, leading Alemany to the Southern Section Division II-AA final.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Funicello dominated as Alemany defeated its closest Mission League rivals, Louisville, 59-36, and Notre Dame, 61-53. Against Louisville, Funicello had 17 points, 18 rebounds, four blocked shots and five steals. Against Notre Dame, she had 18 points, six rebounds, four blocks and three steals.
