UC Irvine Men Sweep La Verne in Volleyball

UC Irvine defeated visiting University of La Verne, 15-8, 15-12, 15-7, in nonconference men’s volleyball Wednesday at Crawford Hall.
Jon Habben had 10 kills to lead the Anteaters, who remain undefeated at 5-0. Freshman setter Cory Hinkle recorded 33 assists for UC Irvine.
Rob Sneider had 11 kills for La Verne (0-4).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Long Beach State 85, Cal State Sacramento 79--The 49ers shot 65% from the floor in the first half as they built a 10-point lead. Akia Hardy scored 23 points and Ja’net Davis had 20 for Long Beach (6-7).
