Music, Arts Need Greater Attention
The Ojai School District is currently quickly approaching the replacement of Andrew Schmidt as superintendent of the district. It’s a matter of urgency that our community stress to the Ojai School Board the importance of hiring an administrator who will work to advance the growth of the music and fine arts programs at our schools.
We live in a community which prides itself on such music programs as Bowlful of Blues, the Ojai Music Festival and the Summer Band Concerts. It is a pity that advancements of the music program in the upper grade levels is not considered a priority by the same administrators who promote and attend these cultural events.
We urge all members of our community to voice their concerns to the administration for the continuation and growth of a full music program.
