Renken, from El Dorado High, capped an impressive prep career by being selected as the most valuable player in the Empire League last season. She has had continued success at Saddleback, where the Gauchos (15-0, 2-0) are ranked second in the state. She scored 13 points as Saddleback beat fifth-ranked Irvine Valley, 65-49, last Wednesday, and had 23 points and eight rebounds Friday in a 95-45 victory over Rancho Santiago.
