Junket Takers During Impasse Should Go to Jail
In the Valley Edition of Dec. 30, the article “Budget Impasse No Damper on Junkets” could serve as an excellent argument for term limits. I don’t know how old Carlos Moorhead is, and neither do I know exactly how long he’s been in office. It seems that I’ve been aware for more than thirty years of the name, “Rep. Carlos Moorhead.” He knows how to milk the cow, so to speak.
Would it be fair to guess that Moorhead no longer really needs to give a damn what his constituents think? I would assume that he must be in his last term and opinions can no longer hurt his career.
Had he taken that junket to all of those historic and interesting vacation places, and at taxpayers’ expense at this time of budget impasse, it should have been worthy of jail time.
Wouldn’t it have been wonderful if, upon his return from such a luxury trip, he could have been slapped with a bill that included all his cronies?
