Brian Savage and Benoit Brunet scored two goals each as the Montreal Canadiens won their fourth consecutive game for new Coach Mario Tremblay with a 4-1 victory over the Whalers on Friday at Hartford, Conn.

Colorado 5, Buffalo 4--Peter Forsberg had two goals and two assists at Denver as the Avalanche won its fourth in a row.
Forsberg, the 1994-95 rookie of the year, has three goals in the last two games after being shut out the first eight.
Edmonton 7, Winnipeg 5--Kelly Buchberger’s unassisted goal with 8:36 remaining at Edmonton broke a 5-5 tie.
