REYKJAVIK, Iceland — A 1-year-old girl, the last person missing after an avalanche roared down on a coastal village in Iceland, was found dead by rescue workers Friday, raising the death toll to 20.
Search teams dug through up to 12 feet of hard snow and debris Friday in Flateyri, 155 miles northwest of Reykjavik, searching for the girl, civil defense spokesman Johannes Reykdal said.
The bodies of 19 people, including the other four members of the girl’s family, were recovered Thursday. Ten people were rescued.
