San Gabriel Valley : Trustee Appointed Days Before Election

With elections for three open seats less than two weeks away, board trustees at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut appointed a new member this week.
Walnut businessman David Hall was sworn in Wednesday for a two-year term as a provisional member of the five-trustee panel, said Jane Faulkner, assistant to college President Bill Feddersen. Hall’s seat is not expected to be up for election Nov. 7, Faulkner said, when seven candidates will be vying for three open seats.
But if residents believe that there should be an election for Hall’s seat, they may gather petition signatures to force an election, Faulkner said.
Mt. San Antonio is the largest community college district in the San Gabriel Valley, with more than 32,000 students enrolled.
