National Education Posts Quarter in Black

IRVINE — National Education Corp. reported net income of $2.4 million, or 8 cents a share, for the third quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $4.1 million, or 14 cents a share, for the like 1994 period. Revenue increased 14% to $72 million from $63.3 million.
The Irvine education and training company posted a net loss of $88.1 million, or $2.89 a share, for the nine-month period, compared with a net loss of $68.5 million, or $2.31 a share, for the comparable three quarters a year ago. Revenue rose more than 11% to $190.3 million from $171.1 million.
