ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL / PREP EXTRA : Brea Olinda Rips Magnolia

BREA — Six players scored touchdowns and the Brea Olinda defense limited Magnolia to 13 yards en route to a 54-0 rout of the Sentinels in Orange League action Friday night.
Even with leading rusher Jerome Owens missing from the offense for missing practice, the Wildcat offense accounted for 299 yards rushing, with most of it coming in the first half when the Wildcats built a 41-0 lead.
Jae Kim recovered a fumble on the Magnolia 16-yard line to set up a quick first touchdown for the Wildcats. Adam Woods scored from the eight and Scott Davis connected on his first of six conversions for Brea.
Quarterback Matt Kalcevich scored from the one to give Brea a 14-0 lead with 2:30 left in the first quarter.
Brea (5-2, 2-0) exploded for 26 points in the second quarter. Richard Bravo scored from the three after Kalcevich connected on a 48-yard pass to Andrew Freeze with 11:21 left in the first half.
Mike Beamer set up the next touchdown with a 43-yard punt return to the three with Kalcevich scoring on he next play. Beamer was successful on his next punt return, going 63 yards for a touchdown. Bravo followed a Fred Thomas fumble recovery with a 25-yard touchdown run to complete the first-half scoring.
The Wildcats added second half touchdowns on a five-yard scoring runs by Brian Valverde and Nob Tokoyoda.
The Brea defense limited Magnolia’s wishbone offense to minus one yard rushing and two completions for 14 yards.
Although he didn’t score, Jesse Vargas ended the game as the Wildcats’ leading rusher with 90 yards in 17 carries.
