CITY SECTION ROUNDUP : Half of Price Is Plenty Enough for Sylmar

Durell Price ran for six touchdowns, including five in the first half, as undefeated Sylmar High crushed Van Nuys, 52-0, in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game Friday night at Sylmar.
Price, who rushed for 188 yards in 16 carries, scored on runs of 17, 48 and four yards in the first quarter.
He added touchdown carries of 13 and three yards in the second period, and scored on a three-yard run in the final quarter.
Sylmar (6-0, 3-0 in conference play) has outscored its opponents, 250-33. In the team’s first shutout, the Spartans held Van Nuys (3-3, 2-1) to 69 yards in 48 plays.
Sylmar’s defense also scored when Cruz Venegas picked up an errant pitch by quarterback Robert Williamson and ran 52 yards for a touchdown.
Sylmar’s final touchdown came on a 38-yard run by Gerrod Taylor early in the fourth period.
