Patton, from Capistrano Valley High, lived a defensive back’s dream--returning an interception for a touchdown--twice Saturday as Saddleback beat Southwestern, 44-7. Patton’s first interception return was for 31 yards and gave Saddleback a 16-7 lead with 13 minutes left in the first half. His second interception return for a touchdown was for 35 yards and came about five minutes late. The score put the Gauchos ahead, 30-7. Patton had seven interceptions as a freshman.
