ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREP EXTRA : Shine Sparkles in Savanna Victory Over Buena Park

BUENA PARK — Eric Shine rushed for 273 yards in 21 carries and scored three touchdowns Friday night as Savanna High beat Buena Park, 27-3, Friday night at Buena Park High.
The 5-9, 165-pound senior running back put on a dazzling display of speed, gaining87 yards in the first quarter. He had 148 in 13 carries by halftime.
“He’s pretty fast,” understated Savanna Coach Fred Di Palma.
The Coyotes (0-4) took an early 3-0 lead on Jude Reyes’ 32-yard field goal.
Then it was time for Savanna (3-1) to Shine.
Shine gave the Rebels a 7-3 lead with 13 seconds remaining in the third quarter when he raced 29 yards for the score.
Savanna increased its lead to 14-3 when Shine scored from 37 yards out to complete an 84-yard, nine-play drive.
Brandon Warden, Savanna’s quarterback, increased the Rebels’ advantage to 20-3 on a six-yard run. Shine then put Buena Park away early in the fourth quarter on 62-yard touchdown.
