Building Owners Cited for Violation
NORTH HILLS — Charges were filed Monday against the owners of a North Hills apartment building where inspectors found neither a fire-alarm system nor smoke detectors, officials said.
Thomas J. Barrack Jr., 48, of Santa Ynez; George R. Bravante, 37, of Angwin, and Lawrence A. Kestin, 43, of Los Angeles are charged with 27 violations of various health, building and safety codes at their two-story, 47-unit building in the 15500 block of Nordhoff Street, Deputy City Atty. Lawrence P.V. Punter said.
Also named in the criminal complaint are the companies--EBP Asset Six Limited Partnership and EBP Asset Genpar Six Inc.--which are the corporate owners of the building, Punter said.
An investigation found cockroach and rodent infestation, defective plumbing, loose and stopped-up toilets and damaged and missing floor coverings in addition to the fire violations, Punter said.
