California Amplifier Posts 92% Gain in Profits

California Amplifier Inc. reported a 92% increase in profits on a 28% jump in sales for the second quarter that ended Sept. 2.
The Camarillo-based company posted a quarterly profit of $1.07 million compared to net income of $550,000 in last year’s second quarter. Its quarterly sales rose to $14.5 million compared to $11.3 million for the same period the previous year.
For the six months, the company’s net income doubled to $1.92 million compared to $956,000 a year ago. Sales for the latest six months climbed 21% to $27.2 million from $22.5 million in the same period a year earlier.
The company sells various amplifier, converter and antenna systems used in cable TV and home satellite dishes.
The company attributed much of its improved results to sales to wireless cable TV systems.
