A group that raises funds for poor children and youngsters with disabilities estimates it raised about $35,000 at a golf tournament Friday at the Braemar Country Club.
The money will be distributed to various charities to support medical and educational programs, according to Laura Haag, member relations director at Braemar.
The Help Youth Foundation sponsored a dinner-dance Saturday to celebrate the fund-raising success of the 19th annual tournament and another fund-raising event--a casino night held in June--that raised $13,000 in net proceeds.
The dinner dance was at the Braemar club.
Some of the charities selected to receive foundation funds this year are Community Assistance to Homeless Youngsters, Activities for Retarded Children and Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind.
