SEASON AT A GLANCE: If the Wolverines are to have another successful season, they need somebody to pick up where Amanda Selby, now at UCLA, left off. Consider Malaika Naulls a candidate. The 6-foot-1 opposite hitter has improved dramatically since being promoted from the junior varsity late last season.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Naulls had 12 kills and six blocks in a three-game sweep of Royal, one of the strongest teams in the region. “Each time she comes onto the court, she steps it up a notch,” Coach Jess Quiroz said of Naulls. “She’s really coming around for us.”
