Family of Slain Man Offers $1,000 Reward for Information
The family of a slain Ventura County man has established a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of his assailant, whom police believe could be living in or around Downtown Los Angeles.
Eric Velasquez of Santa Paula was gunned down in a carport after arguing with several people on North Ojai Road in March, 1994. He died of a single gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
Velasquez, 21, was a subscription salesman for the Los Angeles Times and lived with his parents in their Santa Paula home.
Velasquez’s mother, Susan Ventura, said she set up the $1,000 reward out of frustration. “I want justice to be served in my son’s murder,” Ventura said. “I want his killer off the streets.”
If you have information about the murder, please call Santa Paula police at (805) 525-4474.
